Volunteers hoping to save the bridge from a watery grave as well as polluting the Connecticut River. Worked for hours removing growth that had taken over the pedestrian and bicycle path. And hoped their signs would generate public interest in the challenge. Currently the VT Dept. of Corrections has volunteered a team to maintain the growth on the bridge. Many thanks to that team.

The "Green Team" from the local business "UNFI" is seen in 2009 with one of the six planters they donated to help beautify the bridge.
Another member of the committee Rick Gerdus made wooden bird houses to help attract wildlife to the spot.
In the spring of 2010 four granite benches were installed on the bridge. Donated by the "UNFI" Green Team for pedestrians to enjoy the beauty of the river and wildlife.
The pathway leading from NH to the bridge is mowed and manicured by Riverside Hotel owner Pierra Saba's crew.

Committee member Joe Kowalski is working on an idea to place old cars on the bridge. He suggests filling them with dirt and planting flowers in them. Do you have any ideas if so go to our contact page and give us a shout!
